A new £14 million college campus has recently opened in Skegness, marking a major investment in education and skills for the region.
Located on Wainfleet Road, Skegness College is the town’s first purpose-built vocational college and part of the TEC Partnership. Gardham Wold Landscapes undertook the commercial landscaping works, delivering a high-quality external environment to complement the modern campus. Works included extensive topsoiling, ground preparation and seeding of specified wildflower meadows and amenity grass areas, along with hydroseeding of aquatic wetland areas to support ecological features and long-term sustainability.
Planting works included ornamental shrubs to car parks and building surrounds, bulb planting for seasonal interest and the installation of over 75 extra heavy standard trees to provide immediate structure and maturity. In addition, more than 7,000 hedge plants were installed to define boundaries, enhance privacy, and encourage biodiversity.
The completed landscaping scheme provides an attractive, functional, and sustainable setting for the new college, enhancing the campus environment for students, staff, and visitors.
