This urban green space has transformed the town centre into an attractive, functional, and environmentally conscious destination, creating a new focal point for local events and community life.
Delivered by Gardham Wold Landscapes, the project was completed over three carefully planned phases, ensuring a high-quality finish and long-term sustainability. Our works played a key role in shaping the landscape throughout all phases of the development - for three different main contractors. These included the supply, spreading and precise shaping of topsoil, the creation of mounded grass areas, large-scale turfing and extensive planting to establish a welcoming and mature environment.
Phase 1, completed in 2021, focused on establishing the initial structure of the landscape. Works included the planting of heavy standard trees and ornamental shrubs, along with topsoiling and turfing across key areas to create an immediate green presence within the town centre.
Phase 2, completed in 2022, expanded on this foundation with further topsoiling and turfing works. Landscape bunds were shaped to add form and visual interest, alongside additional tree planting and the introduction of shrubs and grasses to enhance biodiversity and seasonal interest.
Phase 3, completed in 2025, delivered the final transformation of the space. This phase consisted of large-scale turfing works, the filling and fixing of raised planters complete with integrated irrigation systems and the careful repositioning of a mature tree to suit the evolving design and long-term growth of the site.
The completed green space now provides a high-quality, sustainable landscape that enhances the town centre, supports community events, and offers an inviting outdoor environment for residents and visitors alike.
